My mom asked me the other day if I wanted to make a gingerbread house with Lauren and Allison. I have never in my life made a gingerbread house, so I was pretty excited about the idea. However, Allison is a bit young for such activities, especially since the kit comes with very small pieces of candy. So, my mom bought me a kit the other day at Sam's and Lauren and I made it today while Allison was napping. Here are a couple of pictures of the process.
Lauren was very excited about making a gingerbread house for the first time!
The house is together, but now we have to wait 30 minutes for the icing to set before we decorate. And yes, Kym, that is a spongebob placemat. Like you, Lauren loves spongebob.
Hard at work.
It doesn't really look like the one on the box, but hey, it was our first try and we had lots of fun.
And just for good measure
Allison in Lauren's room pulling Lauren's books off of her bookshelf. She is also wearing a necklace that clearly states it belongs to Lauren. It is amazing that Lauren loves her so much.
Also, I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, or happy holidays, whichever you prefer. I need to get to bed since the girls will obviously have me up bright and early to check out what Santa left. Also, we are having my parents, brother and SIL, grandparents, and MIL over tomorrow for Christmas lunch. My MIL is actually going to be here at 7 to cook the turkey. She makes the best turkey EVER.
PS- No news yet from my IM's clinic. They should have received my medical records on Monday. I hate playing this waiting game!
